We the People...

The PEOPLE of the United States of America are being silenced by the elected government. Republicans in Congress are not holding up their oaths of office, they are not defending the Constitution. Donald Trump, the President of the United States violates his oath of office DAILY!

#WeThePeople have to come together in an organized fashion and demand to be heard!

Last night, AG Schneiderman resigned amid allegations of violence and sexual assault. The President of the United States paid off a porn star to be quiet, he said he can grab women by the genitals and they let him because he's a star, he has 12+ women that have come forward accusing him of assault, he was being sued by a woman that claimed he raped her when she was thirteen years old! At what point do the truths of these women become valid???

Look at the public history of Donald Trump. Listen to what he has said about women. "Women, you have to treat them like shit." Where are the demands that he resign for these horrible allegations?

Then we have his blatant disregard to our democracy. He is exactly what our founding fathers were afraid of. He is a despot. He is dangerous. You might like his message right now because it doesn't directly impact you, but I assure you, it will impact you. Do you live in a red state? Do you think that he cares about you? Look at his tweets. He cares about one thing, himself.

His hatred for Obama overshadows his oath of office. Whether he is beholden to Putin or not, his decision (if he so decides) to pull out of the Iran deal only accomplishes one thing: Iran is allowed to make nuclear weapons again. It's either Trump's own personal hatred of Obama driving this or Putin is driving it, because the decision to pull out benefits Russia.

Is it just a coincidence that Trump's undoing of all Obama's accomplishments seem to help Russia? I don't know, Mueller is on that. But I am here, blogging, because I am angry and I am fed up with the 1% in Congress making rules that help themselves but damn the rest of us.

I have a proposal:

Each state should be allowed to add 1 Senator, increasing the Senate by 51. Their existing pay should be cut down to the area median income. They should only be allowed to serve for two terms. Representatives should also only be allowed to serve for two terms

Our population has become too large and the number of representatives is no longer efficient. The two party system has damned us all, just as Hamilton forecast. A third Senator per state gives the opportunity for a third voice. Cutting their pay gets rid of the entitled rich people that hang on to office for forty years and become obsolete and out of touch because they are so separated from their constituents.

My main argument is that we the people are stronger than the elected government but the elected government isn't listening to us. We have marched, and marched and still this despot sits in the Oval Office destroying our democracy because he is filled with vitriol and vengeance. I cannot sit idly by and allow it to happen.

What have I done? I write. I write to my representatives. The problem is, I live in Massachusetts and my representatives agree with me. We need people to reach out to representatives that go the other way.

Please, vote. Register to vote. Get your friends, family, everyone you know to vote.

In the meantime, speak out. Speak loud. Trump will never resign, he's stubborn and vengeful and determined to destroy the man that embarrassed him at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2011.

Let Mueller do his job, but in the meantime, demand that Donald Trump be held accountable for his wrongs. He shouldn't get to serve in the highest office of the land with the accusations against him. Demand that he be removed from office.

40 by 40: Day 5 Leg Day

Leg day, ahhh, leg day. I actually like leg day because I don't have to do push-ups. I have wrist issues. However, my hamstrings were twitching like mad and walking up to Beacon Hill from Back Bay was way more straining than usual. Craving

Ever since I saw this quote I've been thinking about it. Craving as defined by Merriam-Webster: "A powerful desire for something." So I stopped. Thought. Realized, Buddha is right. When I'm on the train in the morning, I want to get to work. When I'm at my desk, I want to get to the train. When I'm on the train in the evening, I want to get home. ...and repeat. If I stop wanting, what happens? I actually find myself in the moment.  Yesterday, after I voted, I was heading toward the door not realizing there were signs everywhere telling me where the exit was. I didn't even realize there was another door until a policeman pointed to it and an old lady yelled at me that I was going the wrong way. I was embarrassed and felt like everyone was looking at me. Then, I thought of Buddha. If I'm living in the moment, who cares? Yeah, I messed up, things happened, but who cares? So, I put my shoulders back, held my head up high, and...

Long December

It's weird but I feel like November has been December for three weeks. I don't know why but my body keeps telling me that it's December and it has been. In fact, Thanksgiving feels like it happened weeks ago rather than just one week ago. Maybe it's the fact that I have little kids and they are getting ready for Christmas and are filled with excitement over the prospect of Santa Claus and presents. Or maybe it's because Thanksgiving came a little earlier than usual this year. Whatever it is, it's a weird feeling. The last time something like this happened to me was in October of 2014. After the month ended, I felt like it was still October until well into February of the following year. It truly makes no sense considering time is an invented human concept.
